Thought Bubble: Want to connect? Do something.

Soul-searching, declarations of allegiance, expressions of #empathy, analysis and debates on the evils of structural #racism, acknowledgement of #privilege - these are necessary and legitimate activities for #healing and #connection. But in the end, the most genuine way we can connect to our fellow human beings, our friends, colleagues and companions, is to decide to actually do something. And perhaps something different to what we have been doing to date. There needs to be an expression of 'intersectionality' between our inner, reflective world and our external, and much more observable, life. Reflection without behaviour is tantamount to ineffective navel-gazing - pleasurable perhaps but of little consequence to deeper change and human connection. Behaviour without reflection risks being a reactionary response without consideration of context or consequence. I've been exploring different ways of 'acting in the world' over the past few weeks - in response to all sorts of things so much bigger than I. A surprisingly challenging endeavour given #change and connection is my stock-in-trade. What has your experience been? What have you been trying to think and do differently that might change, build or strengthen connections with those around you?
